Spring 2015 Transfer Thread

I am a sophomore. And yeah, this thread is pretty dead!

Also @uuuuuu‌ I would have loved to go to BC but they don’t have an anthropology program. Sigh.

U Mich and Northwestern told me that decisions should becoming from them in a week or two. I really hope Cornell does the same.

I’m a little confused as to why Cornell asks for such extensive financial aid documentation. My mom lost her W2 and they need copies of it. So now it’s a bit of a hassle. But I feel like, with such a low acceptance rate, it’s kind of a waste of paper to be making all these applicants send in all this financial aid documentation. Most of us (as in applicants, not necessarily you CC members) are not going to get in. Wouldn’t it make sense to give applicants like a week or two after an acceptance letter to send in extra documentation like that? Or am I missing something? Doesn’t seem like a need-blind policy to me.

Yeah I didn’t realize how much stuff I had to send in until I just looked at the financial aid to do list on the Cornell portal. I only sent the FAFSA, so I’m still working on sending all that stuff in :/.

I expect decisions to come out in two weeks at the earliest.

So when I log in to Cornell’s web portal, it still says “no current to do information found” under the financial aid to do list, and my app was sent to the committee two weeks ago. Am I looking at the wrong spot? Also, is the financial aid stuff even mandatory before you get a decision? Like the person a few posts up said, kind of a waste of our time and theirs to do it all if we don’t have a great shot of getting in.

Also, how many others are Arts and Science apps?

For my financial aid it says I have nothing to do I submitted pretty much everything. I still however don;t see that my app was sent to committee where can I find that?

My financial aid says “transfer transcript.”

Mine also says ‘no current to do information found.’ I did not send in any financial aid info, though. I will if I am accepted.

@hardcoregamer, look at the bottom of the app status page.

@hardcoregamer: I only know that my app was sent on to the committee because I emailed my midterm grades as a PDF, and got a response from someone in admissions that my app was complete and was being sent on. If you’re concerned about making sure that they have all your info, I’d give admissions a call.

EDIT: Nevermind, rdlp is correct, at the bottom of the app status page mine now says “Your materials have been received. Your application has been forwarded to the admissions staff for review.”

ILR BABY!!!

You got your acceptance, or you’re just excited about the school you’re applying to? =)

you to everyone who helped me out with the status!

meant thank you*

Just excited!

I can’t wait to hear back guys.

Does anyone have a rough idea on when we can expect a decision?

Probably two weeks

@z3rocarbon Probably around early December

Why do you say early December? The Cornell portal says they start communicating decisions approximately 4 weeks after the deadline

Yea I second that @DukeSilver17‌ . Pretty sure we should start getting some replies by November 15th or so and into mid Dec.

The anticipation is getting to me… So nervous/excited to hear back! Is everyone planning on dorming if accepted? I wonder what that situation is like for spring transfers? Anyone have an idea?

@Steffy16 I know exactly how you feel! I’m super anxious these days. I was also wondering about housing. I think most transfers are placed in West Campus but I’m not sure exactly. Does anyone know?
