If our spring courses are different from what we reported on our application do we still need to report the changes to the UCs even if they are only some GE classes?

any changes that deviate from what you originally said on your update should be reported.

So how do I report? call them?

email, call, letter. you know, this is all included in the email they sent you, right?

they havn’t send me any email since january when they say i have to do the update

i’m going to repeat this again:
gosh… i really hope you don’t get accepted. also, yes, this is in the January email; specifically, Jan 13

specifically, If your planned coursework changes or you receive D or F grades in winter coursework after the application update deadline, then you must notify the admissions office at each UC campus to which you applied.

Fenris, please do not bother answering if you are going to be rude and put people down. She just asked a simple question. Get over it.

Hey Balla, I was just in this situation so here is the breakdown for what to do for each campus.

For the following campuses, send them an email with your new spring schedule;

UC Santa Cruz – myapplication@ucsc.edu
UC Santa Barbara – admissions@sa.ucsb.edu*
UC San Diego – academicchanges@ad.ucsd.edu
UC Los Angeles – datachng@saonet.ucla.edu

For Berkeley, take that same email, print it out, sign it, and send it to;

Course/Grade Change Request
Office of Undergraduate Admissions
University of California
103 Sproul Hall #5800
Berkeley, California 94720-5800
Fax: 510-642-7333

For UC Irvine, go to the message center on the login, go to send a message, and there will be an area for add/drop classes with four slots (So if you replaced a class, you’d have one drop and one add). For me since I am taking a bunch of GE’s this spring I dropped 4 classes, all non-major, and added four. I simply sent a message explaining this (Using their system), they asked for the classes, and I provided it.

It goes without saying in all of these emails you should include your UC Applicant ID, full name, and probably major your transferring into.

Hope this information helps you out!

For UC Santa Barbara they have this auto-reply system where you have to make the subject line some random phrase they tell you in the reply email. Do that and resend it and it should get through. I said should cause I just got the auto-reply all three times I tried, so I’ll be calling them tomorrow.

thx silicon, so I must do this now or can I wait for the admission decisions to come out first and just send one email to the campus that I will attend. I already finished all my major classes, and all these changes are just GE classes, which has no impact on anything…

reading comprehension isn’t your forte huh?

unless you want to be rescinded, yes. it’s like saying you’re going to take differential equations, organic chem, magnetism in physics etc etc and taking freshman composition.

in effect, you’ve lied to them. you obviously tell them now.

LOL u hella funny dude, the question aint even for u and u answering, looks like u should email the UCs and tell them u got a low IQ, back off and get a life

IQ isn’t even indicative of intelligence, although you certainly don’t have the penchant for “high IQ” seeing as how you are unable to figure things out for yourself; for the record, it’s called critical thinking, and you absolutely fail at it. if you wanted to ask him a question directly, you could have PMed him, seeing as how the function is there for that very reason. if you post in a thread, it’s open to the public. seeing as how you aren’t smart enough to figure out that you pretty much lied to admissions about the courses you’re taking, and therefore need to notify them as soon as possible, i’d say you’re borderline ■■■■■■■■, and therefore shouldn’t be granted access to even step on a UC.

For God’s sake you couldn’t even read an email that was sent to you regarding an important update and subsequent consequences if you fail to follow protocol. Before you accuse someone of “having a low IQ,” take a look at your potential for intelligence and the ability to read into account. You may not have a low IQ, but you sure are dumb!

well all i am gon say is that only a geek like you would spend two paragraphs analyzing what I said on a forum like this…It’s pretty clear that you are pretty weird and nerdy…It’s ok u will always have ur mom’s shoulder to cry on… say wat u want, you are not worth of my time

you’re asking a fcking question. obviously someone has to analyze it. if that’s nerdy, sue me. i’m sorry if you have to be a nerd/geeky to utilize critical thinking. so if i’m a nerd does that make you a ■■■■■■?

yeah my mom’s shoulder is the best, perhaps you should borrow it. i’d cry too if i was as stupid as you.

uh oh guys. COLLEGE IS FOR WEIRD AND NERDY KIDS ONLY

/s

@ Fenris

Did you not get enough love as a kid? lol…you needa take that stick outta that a**!..you try too hard as a ■■■■■ lol

Balla, you should send off those spring quarter corrections ASAP to all UC’s. I know it may be tempting to wait until you’ve been accepted or only send them to the UC’s you really want to go to, but its essential you send them out now.

Since your in the same boat as me and its just non-major GE’s (Assuming you’ll still complete IGETC / Breadth Requirements) then you don’t need to stress over it. Just type it up, send it out, and call to follow up with the UC’s that have sub-par communication. For example, I have yet to receive any reply from UC Santa Cruz on my update, whereas UCLA responded in thirty minutes.

Finally on the issue of Fenris v Balla in the court of College Confidential, Fenris you’re way too harsh and need to chill. You have a good point about figuring things out for yourself and taking initiative, but this is a big moment for all of us and we’re nervous. Sometimes its nice to have someone help you through.

P.S. I did not include the information for UC Davis, UC Riverside, or UC Merced as I did not apply there.
