@BladesofGlory Where do you see the orientation registration info?
@britni12 http://orientation.utexas.edu/freshman/registration there ya go
@PenaDelia you look pretty competitive but I am not to familiar with ME so I am not the best person to chance you.
@bicycleclub I like your extracurriculars it will help a lot, your GPA is a tad low I would think for Nursing, but I am not the best person to chance you. I have not looked into nursing and how competitive it is.
This is ridiculous. The schools that accepted me begin classes in early May, and I’m supposed to wait on Texas until mid April to even know if I’ve been accepted? I have to get housing, be advised, register, relocate, etc. I don’t have time to mess around.
Do you guys know if when they review our applications they determine their decision based on transfer credit or cumulative gpa?
I am trying to transfer from a community college in Texas to CNS as a Mathematics major for Fall 2016. *2nd choice is COLA majoring in Philosophy.
GPA: 3.64, 4.0 major GPA
Credits: 59
Math courses:
College Algebra for STEM Majors - A
Trigonometry - A
Calc I - A
Calc II - A
Calc III - A
Differential Equations - A
I also took an Introduction to Mathematical Proofs course at a small local university, which I also got an A in.
I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Mu Alpha Theta, which is a national mathematics honor society for two-year schools. Also, I have been a tutor at my community college in the Math Outreach Center for 4 semesters now - tutoring everything from developmental math to Differential Equations, also leading study sessions for groups of up to 15 students.
I’m not super confident in my essays, to be honest.
Do I have a chance? Thanks in advance.
Curious as to if someone would chance me…

3 Letters of Rec : one is a P.E. , one is a professor of mine that’s Department head & UT Doctoral Candidate (adjunct UT prof as well), and the other is an LPC from when I was in trouble as a juvenile who did a special circumstance letter of rec.
My 2 essays are powerful and well constructed. (Lawyer edited to be concise.)
Resume is nice to say the least.
Happy reviewing guys!! May odds be in your favor.
Do you know what the Mystatus progression is? What comes after the Complete/On Time status? (I’m curious about the happy path and not so happy path). Also, when are notifications typical? The website states transfer apps will be notified by June 15. Really?? -mom of a transfer applicant
@momcam It starts off with Complete/Ontime then it goes to in review and from there it tells you what the final decision is. I have seen friends go from complete ontime straight to rejected or accepted. So it really could be anything. June 15th is the absolute latest they want to have decisions out by. They could release them in waves sooner though.
IIRC, only those with less than 30 hours will be notified in June, as UT will wait until final transcripts from spring '16 to start making decisions on those students.
If you have more than 30 hours, I’ve heard anywhere from late March to mid April.
Hello everyone. I’m your next Joe wondering if anyone could chance me.

As far as volunteer hours, I’ve accumulated about 100+ hours through my church as I am heavily involved.
Thanks!
Also I forgot to add:
I have two LOR. One from my History teacher in high school whom I feel has witnessed my personality and academic abilities enough to write about them. The other is my boss.
As far as my essays, I feel very confident. I think they showcase the passion I have towards my desired major.
MyStatus just changed the status of my application from “complete/on time,” to just my semester of transfer and major choices. No “in review” listed. I wonder what that means!
@cls4763 Mine changed to the same thing this morning. It must just be transitioning into the review process, maybe?
@SystemAddict let’s hope so!
Same here, folks! Hope that late March thing is legit. Hard to wait
@BladesofGlory Thank you! My son’s status also changed this morning as others did on this thread. Keeping those fingers crossed that it is a sign of something good for all!
Status changed here as well.
What’s the “late March thing”?
Mine changed as well.
Let’s hope they decide to let us know earlier than later.
