Unfortunately I was denied from The University of Georgia and am considering transferring in to UGA after a fall semester at GCSU.

The UGA website describes the requirements as 30 hours for a sophomore transfer with a 3.2 GPA.

The deadline for transfer applications for the spring is September so I would not have a college GPA or college courses completed.

I currently have 21-24 credit hours from 4 AP tests I've taken and by the end of my senior year, I should have between 30-37 credit hours from the total 9 AP courses I've taken and what they will give credit for.

UGA admissions said as long as GCSU has the AP credits put into my transcript as transferable classes (i.e. ENGL1101) then I can apply to transfer for the Spring.

I still am confused on how GPA would be considered in my case since that is a large part of transfer applications.

Would I use my high school GPA? My GPA from my AP classes (4.0 from HS)? Would I have some sort of GPA based on the AP credit classes GCSU puts on my transcript?

If anyone has done something like this before or knows anything about this process, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
