i was transfered from hedrick to sproul because I didnt send my inital payment on time and had to be re-offered. How is sproul hall? the food? # of freshmen? distance to classes? any other PROS/CONs thnxs

and i dont know if reoffered is a word ahah

Hey, I'm surprised that there isn't a response already. From what it appears, Sproul is one of the prime locations! A lot of returning students seem to want that. The food shouldn't be a problem because you can eat anywhere you like. I also heard that it's very difficult for freshmen to get in, thus there will be few of them. There's pros and cons; it's meeting returning students to learn from them vs. socializing with your peers. Hedrick seems to be the hall a lot of freshmen get. Looking at the map, Sproul is pretty close to Hedrick and thus closer to north campus.

Now of course, I'm not a student yet... so I'm not sure. Please do correct me, anyone. I just gathered what I read on these forums.

Hello,
I'm a new transfer student and will be starting in August. O.K. Sproul Hall...well, it's one of the older buildings and yes this is where freshmen are sent. As far as food is concerned, I heard that De Neve Plaza has the best food. Sproul is not at all coveted, because there are lots of new housing complexes: Sunset Village, Hedrick Summit, etc. However, it is UCLA, and just being there is pretty sweet.

Your not that far off:) They usually send freshmen to Sproul. This is the pecking order for where you are placed: transfer students, returning students and freshmen. Graduate students have entirely different housing which is quite swank. They have just built two new residential complexes: Hedrick Summit and Rieber Vista. Single rooms seem to be what everyone is after, and these two new complexes accomodate them. They consist of five single rooms with a shared bath and living space. If you have any more questions you can check out the housing website at UCLA. Go under current students, and it will be on the far right. It's pretty cool! They even have VR views of the rooms.

Sorry, been up for a while, eyes blurring. I have no idea about what I thought your post initially said. Anyhow, I don't know how many transfers are in Sproul, I know I will be there for 6 weeks in TSP, then I move to Hedrick Summit. I would imagine not to many, but it all depends on priority. In the original post, it was mentioned that a deadline was not meet, so you have to take those sorts of incidents into consideration as well. I think they generally try to stick people with their peirs for the most part. They may even divy it up by floor. Sorry again for the wierd post, sleep is what I lack:)

Each student gets a bed, desk, dresser space and closet space. If you go onto the Housing website, it mentions somewhere what comes in each room. They also have VRs of some of the rooms.

wow you are lucky. sproul owns hedrick anyday in everything. the only thing you might wish u had a bit more was a social atmosphere, as sproul has many 2nd years, many who aren't looking to make friends with 1st years while hedrick is filled with freshmen ready to make new friends. but besides that, sproul is close to campus, close to all the dining halls and eateries and basically super convenient.
