St. Johns or Fordham?

Hey y'all:

So I just got my FinAid package from St. John's Univ. As a commuter, it will cover all of the costs (tuition, fees, but not books) without any loans. While I haven't heard from Fordham re: FinAid, I did get a full tuition scholarship and would also be commuting there.

Also, I was accepted into the Honors programs at both universities.

Any thoughts? Which school is better? I'm still waiting to hear from Harvard and Cornell but right now these two are very attractive because $$ is really my primary concern.

I'd like to hear people's opinions on which university is better. Thanks guys!

I think Fordham is nationally recognized and St. Johns is more of a commuter school. It's harder to get into Fordham. Congrats on getting into the honors programs.

Thanks Muffy...
bump... anyone else?

fordham is the better school, but if you have a full ride to St. John's then its close, because both schools are expensive. If fordham gives you enough fin aid then go there. I grew up in the neighborhood around fordham and it's awesome(bronx zoo, botanical garden, little italy). The only thing good about St. John's is that they have big east basketball and 15 mins from manhattan.
St. john's also has some acedemics. since money is a big deal you should wait and get the fin aid from evry school you applied to. ( harvard and Cornell) WOW!

Well, of course, St. John's has that Div I Fencing draw (stop laughing now!), but I would go with Fordham too, if the price is the same. But, do wait and see what H and C have for you. Is living away from home a plus or minus for you? That may make all the difference.

Tough choice. Good luck!
