St. John's University (Queens, NY)

There are no ,ore “double fares” as when you get on the bus with your metrocard, you get an automatic transfer to the train.

IF you get an unlimited metrocard, you can ride all you want without paying extra fares. Since they have added the dorms, the school also runs shuttle buses to the union turnpike train station. there is also an express bus stop on union turnpike and utopia that will take you to midtown manhattan in a little over 30 minutes. It can be a bit pricy ($5 each way or you can buy a 7 day express bus unlimted metrocard which you can also use on regular mass transit for $41)

I’m a high school junior who is serously considering attending St. John’s my question is such: how much does religon play into day-to-day life? Are you required to attend church? How do they feel about non-Roman Catholics?

Thank you
