# stamps on teacher rec. envelope?

I'm using the Liberty Bell Forever stamp on my teacher recommendations, but I don't know how many I should use for them in a 9x12 envelope.

Some things that might help:
current address: CA 94404

prospective college addresses:
Durham, NC 27708 (duke)
Ithaca, NY 14850 (cornell)
Baltimore, MD 21218 (johns hopkins)
Needham, MA 02492-1200 (franklin w. olin)

My friend's also sending his from CA 94404 to Stanford, CA 94305-6106 using the same size envelope and stamps; how many should he use? THANKS!

we were told to put one on recommendation letter envelopes

are you sure? I thought # stamps was based on distance from destination, size of package, and weight.

I'm putting two on each, just to be safe.

Are you an international?

For recommendations, it's just one or two pieces of paper in an envelope. And I wasn't under the impression that distance mattered at all. They just put it in the mail. 42 cent stamp or w/e you need. There is no other cost unless you have to do first class or something. Or it's a box, or a portfolio package thing.

I don't understand why you don't just go to your local post office and ask them. They would know moreso than anyone online.

It's 42 cents for a letter (1oz or less) sent first class anywhere in the us (including alaska and hawaii)

I'm sending my recommendations and transcripts together first class insured.
