It’s a slim chance for all of us, but I’m hopeful! I hope they release the decisions early! I think last year they were released almost a week earlier.
@danglesandsnipes True, but there aren’t 40,000 people to compete against either xD.
Not sure what you’re trying to say…I’d rather compete for 2,000 spots out of 40,000 students then 1-2 spots out of 100.
I think we can only hope that the applicant pool itself is less competitive…
@chanceme2014 Well, I suppose so. My thinking is that it’s easier to stand out with a smaller applicant pool.
My logic could be totally off base though, shrugs, either way, as everyone has said, it’s a total crapshoot.
Hey guys, Ztom checking in here… Remember that even if you do not get accepted to Stanford, you guys (and girls) can achieve great things! Surround yourselves with like minded individuals, and success will follow- no matter the school. Good luck to you all, and stay positive!
Has anyone called to confirm an official decision release date?
I thought it has been set to May15 for quite some time now? Maybe this is just a BY date?

@GRANBYsyztem I think it’s just a BY date. In previous years, decisions were always released at an earlier date though every time Stanford stated that decision would be released by 15th.
@MarkLee1995 Ah ic… Well in that case, I hate that you told me that. I was able to be at east because it was a set date. Hahaha… good thing Stanford doesn’t have an available portal for me to constantly refresh throughout the day
Can someone call?
A cc student I know student from a ccc in the east bay area was accepted today(I’m 100% sure). Is stanford doing rolling decisions? I haven’t gotten anything today.
@collegiate2017 as far as i know, they are not rolling. Would it be possible to obtain some proof from your friend? A screenshot of the email… or even copy/paste… anything.
I mean, even the schools that are not rolling sometimes send acceptances early to some people, if they are really sure they want to accept them.
Yes very easily. This person even went as far as to post the decision on their facebook. I don’t want to invade the persons privacy by just taking it from there but I can also say that the letterhead is that of the department that you applied to with the major directly below.
@collegiate2017 well… that makes me anxious now. the impending rejection

Decisions are being released on Friday, 3:00 PM. (~47 hours)
I am just hoping that they haven’t already sent out the acceptances and are just sending out the rejections on Friday…
I don’t see a reason why they’d do that and then announce a date.
Lighting my candles - I have nothing to lose. Rejected from all UCs because I miscalculated and was short credits, so it’s Stanford or bust. Hopefully Stanford will be more lenient about credits, but I’m not too hopeful.
Good luck to everyone coping with the next 2 days!
Hello everyone! I just checked the website and it now says that transfer decisions will be emailed May 8th, which is THIS FRIDAY!!!
@stanchevy what is the purpose of sending out a couple acceptances 2 days earlier? Just to making a couple accepts happier sooner?
Probably making sure he doesn’t enroll to another school, which means Stanford REALLY wants him. Schools do this for freshmen admission, too.
Its a she
