I want a personalized note! That’d be cool. And @ezak, I didn’t apply for aid yet, either. I’ve been trying to help my mom w/ the taxes. I hope we still get a sizable amount of FA. :)

Yeah, internationals are bound to get their admission packets late.

I’m pretty sure most of us will get personalized letters and/or calls as Stanford wants to ensure that their yield for the early round of decisions is as high as possible.

On a different note, any South Asian admits?

QB applicants don’t get their packages until RD. I’m officially ****ed.

South Asia Represent! (South Indian in fact)

yeah it was really funny today. I was calling Stanford for Financial aid info, and they connected me to my Regional admissions officer, who was just on the verge of calling me!

So yeah, I got my call too! Nothing specific, but she seemed really nice, and they send out emails to you in mid-January with more information on how to contact them (probably a personal letter too?)).

Just an FYI, I submitted my CSS stuff about a month late I called them today to clarify the implications. They told me my financial aid stuff would just get here later (sometime in Jan), but my financial aid offer would not be negatively affected. So that’s good news if you submitted it late!

Have any of you guys joined the facebook group? I kind of want to bring up College Confidential in the group, but I’m not sure I want to be the one to do it lol

I’ve joined though I’m not sure I would take the initiative either. Who are you btw?

So, it turns out QB students ARE getting admissions packets soon - they were mailed out on the 15th. Whew - I feel better now. It doesn’t help that this has not been a good week for me at ALL, so I kind of flipped out on everyone when I got the bad information!

Stanford is sex. I love my regional admissions director <3

toast, Id rather not my say my name on College Confidential, but I’m the one who replied to the status update “or any swimmers?” with “I can swim…barely”. you?

I am: “You know, I have almost completely calmed down”

Orthodontist appointment tomorrow! I unfortunately had to have braces so late. Anyways I wanted to Stanfordize my teeth, so should I go with red and white or just red for my bands? I have all white now, so I was leaning to all red.

Go with all red. Your teeth will provide the white.

I could use braces for minor cosmetic purposes, but I didn’t have the $3500 to spend on fixing two or three teeth. It’s not that noticeable. The thing that sucks about my teeth is that they have a slight yellow color because of heredity - it’s not too bad, but it sucks that they’re yellowish not because of my doing but because of my mother. I’ll live, and I’ve certainly never had anyone say anything about them.

what group are ya’ll talking about? I’m in the class of 2014 one

Who’s read the Critique of Pure REason?

I’m an early admit from last year (back when we called it SCEA :)), and I just wanted to say… CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Stanford has been AMAZING and my first quarter here has provided me with the time of my LIFE so far, and you are all going to LOVE Stanford, even more than you do right now. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to PM me. I haven’t been on CC in a while, and I’m willing to field any anxious questions from y’all because I sure had a ton of questions around this time last year!

Again, CONGRATS CONGRATS CONGRATS and… GO CARDINAL!!!

Ahaha, HTML fail. Might someone fix that for me in the next post? :)

Thanks a ton!

And you might want to try [ b ] and / b
