***Stanford Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

Twitter @applystanford

Yes 4pm Pacific time 11 dec and 4am time in Dubai on 12 dec

And 5:30 AM India time. I can’t sleep. (Not that I’m sleepy – I’m nervous and just want an acceptance!)

Why, oh why can’t they just push the big red button already

Recommenting cause no one answered qq:

I was too late for the art supplement deadline, so I just put my music clips in the additional information. HOWEVER, the clips that I put in my add info were videos that had stilled images instead of me playing live. I only had the audio recording from my solo performances.

Would this be ok???

@ayyyyyyy no idea

^To be blunt, they probably didn’t look at it going by their policy on additional materials. However, I’m just some guy on the internet so who knows

@JPinkman Yeah, quite possibly, but when they said additional information on their site, didn’t they mean outside information such as another resume, abstract research, anything else submitted not through the common app?

@collegederp@Penn@PreviewingPenn

Honestly I’m just hoping for a defferal. I made so many edits to my personal statement and additional information section on the common app and I think they were pretty great changes.also, a foster dad was an alum and he ended up becoming an important man, I’m wondering if I put that down if it could’ve helped in anyway. But what’s done is done i guess and I think I had a pretty good story to tell and good recommendations.

I’m definitely expecting a rejection but I keep remembering that decisions come out today and get excited for a few seconds. I hope everyone gets in! And if we don’t, we will end up somewhere great anyways.

Class of 2018 here. Good luck to all of you and remember, there are a lot of great schools out there that aren’t Stanford. Admissions say that somewhere around 70% of applicants are considered competitive. Only 5% get in. Not getting in does not mean you’re a terrible student or that you won’t find college success. To those that get in today, congratulations, and to those who don’t, don’t let it crush you.

@SeattleChick Just so you’re aware, Stanford does not wait list very much mostly because they have such a large yield rate. Best of luck to you.

yooo decisions will be on portal not email http://engage.stanford.edu/rea-decisions-to-be-released-december-11 (and they tweeted it)

So there will be no email? Just the portal?

Da…!!!

4 more hours!

The method for checking the status of undergraduate application materials has changed. Applicants will soon receive an email with a link to the new application status page.

Anyone else get this when they went to check?

Hey guys!!! Dropping by from the Yale EA thread!!! I wish all of you young, talented applicants good luck!! Many of you will get in, while many will not! I hope that those who make it, celebrate to the fullest. And those who do not make it-- remember that there are SO MANY other GREAT schools out there. There are so many opportunities to be successful! Take them and enjoy your life!!! And if you do not make it, do not be hard on yourself. No one knows the real reason of your rejection. It could be poor scores or it could even be that it just wasn’t your day. Maybe the admissions rep were all stressed the day they went through your application. Who knows?! The point is, that HUMANS went through your applications, not a machine. Humans have emotions that come in the way of things!!!

Be Happy, and Be proud of your high school accomplishments!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

@Goozar You should have already gotten the link with username and password when u submitted your app

For those of you with test scores listed on the portal, do they list every date for the tests you took? I see only one test date listed for the ACT and three were sent in.
