***Stanford Class of 2020 Applicant Discussion***

Me!

me tbh

TBH, everyone who applies to Stanford should do so with a dash of “just for the heck of it.”

In the end, it’s a lottery that will reward a FEW whose stars aligned for the ADCOM and MANY more deserving candidates whose didn’t. Getting accepted to Stanford is something to be extremely proud of, to be sure. But getting rejected from there is certainly nothing to be ashamed of. Good luck to all.

I applied so that I can save the letter if accepted (like a treasure); if not, no regret, no plan of going there anyways. : ) And yes, good luck to all of those that truly want to attend.

I wish I had the same mindset as you guys… Unfortunately Stanford has been my dream school for my entire life. So basically, THIS SUCKS :((

Meant to say, “And will pass on MANY more deserving candidates…” But you guys get my gist.

@ThatGirlCoder - If you don’t get in (and I think that until everything is said and done, you have a chance like everybody else) it won’t be the end of the world. There is life after you have been denied admission to Stanford University. This is the case even if you had a Stanford blanket since age 1… : )

@yalebound2020 Aw, thanks so much  I know I’ll end up happy wherever I go, and I know that in the end everything will work out. In the moment, though, it doesn’t seem so positive and happy. I’m trying, but it’s hard. I know that’s how it will end though. For all of us, not just me

Did Stanford recently send out IDOC requests to every applicant?

IDOC requests?

Hi guys… I am an international student and I had submitted my noncustodial CSS profile waiver request but I don’t know where to check if it was accepted… Any help please…?

(Now part of the list of idoc schools.)

Is the rule “the last Friday on or before April 1st” or “the last Friday in March”? Because that’s the difference between the decision being released on April 1st and on March 25th.

Did you guys receive any emails from Stanford after submitting your app? I literally received none after my confirmation with my portal login. I didn’t even get an interview but I’m from NYC. I’m only starting to realize now since all of my schools have communicated with me between confirming my application and now…

@ThatGirlCoder - Welcome to Stanford. That’s their MO. In some states they don’t even bother interviewing! So don’t take personal. I guess they are fans of Mies Van der Rohe’s “less is more” style?

@APersonsHistory Just checked IDOC and yeah I see their name under the list. I don’t think it means much? Just took too long to show up on the system. I had that happen to me before for another school.

@APersonsHistory Did you get one? I just submitted mine last weekend and haven’t got a IDOC request before that

@labyrinth1997 Yeah they are under my list of schools for the IDOC. (I already have all of my documents submitted into the system.) Are they not in your college list in the IDOC website?

Hey guys, I realized that March 25th is Good Friday. Do you think Stanford would release decisions on a religious holiday?

@gummybear2016 given that some colleges have their admitted students’ weekend during Easter, I don’t think the fact that it’s a religious holiday would really impact anything.
