@JacobsCreek im Indian ethnically but born and raised in Cali
@educationfan I sure hope there is a legacy!
Could you clarify what āOOSā is?
Wait, so having others apply from your school can stunt your chances?
@kath00 I think around 5% get deferred
@Helium9 I hope it has a big role since Iām also international and I have bad stats
@moroccan99 My stats are okay in general, but I do hope that they value my backgroundā¦
By any chance, are you from Morocco?
@Helium9 Yeah, I practiced for the sat the whole summer but I didnāt get a good score (1350), and Iām applying for financial aid
@Helium9 All the tippy top schools value diversity of every kind so if your background truly makes your perspective and application unique among the thousands of others applying then yes, it does play a big role. Cultural diversity is a part of the context in which admissions officers try to create when evaluating everything on your application.
@CiteYourSources Hope that possibly being the only Cypriot applying makes a difference then xD
Iām feeling kind of nervous since I only have a 33 ACT and no hooksā¦I wonder if that right there is a deal breaker.
Friend who got rejected from REA last year dealt with his grief by going on a cookie-baking marathon and distributing them to everyone else still waiting on resultsā¦seems like the optimal coping strategy tbh
@December9th2016 I only got a 31 (a couple hooks though) so I feel you! May I ask what you got on the SAT if you took it?
@Chips99 I got a 1420ā¦but my SAT 2ās are prime. I know they donāt carry as much weight though
That awkward moment when you have no idea what a hook might be. Iām pretty sure I donāt have any xD
@vasodys Hooks are legacy, athlete, minority, or low-income, etc.
@December9th2016 Oh, ok, then Iām technically a minority since Iām Cypriot?
@December9th2016 Aaah same!
oof i have no hooks

How much do SAT 2ās help??
@December9th2016 What major did you apply to and what tests did you take?
