I will be driving to Vegas, probably with little to no internet access in the desert. Can. You. Hear. Me. Now…
If you guys need to release some anxiety, search up some KenM posts for a good laugh.
Wait guys… before we check our decisions, can we all gather on this thread to give some last final thoughts/wishes/prayers LOL
Haha yeah the past couple of days there’s been so many more comments in this thread as everyone gets nervous. It’s so disheartening to me to know that almost all of us will get rejected. Like, we all know the odds, but every once in a while we get that spark of “what if”. Knowing that there is a chance makes it so much harder.
It would be so great if we all got in, but somehow I doubt that will happen.
Maybe 1 or 2 from this thread?
Anyone want to post their test scores so we all get a drift of each other’s test scores? Yes, I know it’s not the main factor in applications, but many people, starting with me, would probably name it as one of their weaknesses. I’ll start: 1290 in SAT and 30 on the ACT. My twin sister also applied REA and hers are 1440 and 32.
@PinkQuetzal9 2270 old sat: 790 writing, 710 reading, 770 math. 800 SATII Math level 2. NMS semi-finalist
Man reading some of y’alls ECs and research and stuff really makes me discouraged for my application :((
Old SAT: 2400. Did not take ACT. SAT 2: Math II 800 Chem 800 US History 790
There’s no point as we’ll all be finding out in a few days on the results thread.
However, just to entertain you (because why not), I have a 34 SS on the ACT and 800s on both the SAT Physics and Math 2.
But as you pointed out, they don’t matter nearly as much essays, recs, ECs…
34 SS ACT, 720 Math 2, 750 Bio M, 750 Chem
How much do y’all think great rec letters could make up for slightly lackluster ECs?
35 ACT, 800 M2, Chem
@Cabothedog What do you mean by lackluster?
I’ve been reading this thread regularly and although it makes me anxious it is also really helpful to be around a group of people going through the same thing!
@PinkQuetzal9 Hey my twin sis and I both applied for REA! And my ACT was 34 while my sister’s got a 32. We both have 1430 SS on SAT though.
That’s so neat! Wish I had your test scores…
@AznDude525 compared to some of y’all I don’t have as impressive ECs. I haven’t done well in any major academic competitions, I haven’t done a long independent research project, etc.
@Cabothedog As long as you have one or two EC that you really like to do, and you show it through your essays or throughout your application that you are passionate about it, it doesnt matter if that EC isnt super prestigious.
