Pretty much the most unique thing I’ve done is do Dual Enrollment on my own, so I empathize with all those who feel they don’t have good enough ECs. At least I can say that I like my ECs and didn’t just do them to put on college apps. Really, at this point, that’s all I can say. :))
Yeah…I guess I just feel like they’ll choose someone with better ECs than me
what ECs do you do @Cabothedog
Oh well! I don’t have any ECs. I did it all by myself with people I dragged with me. I was in a few online networks but nothing special. But in my defence, my school has NEVER had any applicants to Stanford (as far as I know) and they do things to get people accepted by the colleges in my country. Which means they lock us in rooms and tell us to memorize the text book. Ugh I hate this place. I want to change it all. I want to run out of here.
Trust me, you’re all getting into wonderful places like Stanford if not Stanford. I just wish I could be one of you.
1350 sat 4.54 gpa (4.59 10-12) EC’s were pretty good and my essay revolved around my start up business. ugh wish i had a higher sat (only thing lacking in my app)
how about you guys
btw does it even help at all if one of your letters of rec was from a stanford alumni?
also anyone know what a 1350 correlates to you out of 2400? Does it break 2000?
Hey best of luck! @Manreet according to the chart here: https://blog.■■■■■■■■■■■/blog-0/sat-score-conversion-chart
a 1350 is equal to 1910. Are you an international applicant? If you don’t want to say, I understand.
@Manreet you should use the converter on the collegeboard website for the most accurate results
@vasodys True. It requires more information.
Stanford 2020 here. I remember being in this position exactly a year ago. Please please please calm down for the next few days and try to just focus on getting through the week. Stop looking at decision reaction videos/artsy videos about Stanford college life. Prepare for the worst and don’t ever consider your admission decision a value judgment. From personal experience, I’ve noticed that everyone here has something incredibly unique about them and that’s why they’re here. If you’re not selected, it’s because there’s a better place for you elsewhere; the admissions officers are really good at their jobs.
Is it weird that they haven’t posted anything yet? Does that mean that the decisions will not be out on Friday?
I think if they are going to post anything, it’ll be in a couple of hours.
It’s like 4am there right now - they’re still dreaming…?
Judging from past years, it could be during the morning or 5pm PST.
Last year was at 3 a.m on the day before decisions were announced so we could have to wait till tomorrow
The year before that was at 8 p.m 2 days before
@vasodys You have your Twitter timezone set in EET
Yeah it was just before 5pm pacific time last year. Makes sense since that’s right before the admission office would close for the day.
@Helium9 I do, but I tried using a VPN and changing the time on my PC to PST but it didn’t change so I thought the times on twitter were local to the account that posted them. What times are they actually?
I’ve read on a couple sites that since the SAT was just distributed this year, it won’t hold that much weight either for or against you for our class specifically (unless you have sent an ACT score too I guess). That can be either great news or terrible news for some of you guys I guess haha
