Is there anyone who got that email who is not URM? Curious if the email is specially about diversity or if its just Stanford admissions as a whole.
I’m a girl but that’s it. I’m white. I applied for art though on October 15th
I got the email and I am not a URM. I am first generation though.
does anyone know the deferral rate of last years applicants?
I’m new to this but what’s URM? Can someone explain please
I got an email a week and half later about Stanford. It discussed diversity.
@Radm02 URM means “under-represented minority” which basically identifies you as either black or hispanic or a specific type of Asian (Vietnamese, Filipino, or Hmong). Many people say that being a URM gives you an edge in the admissions process, because you are under-represented on the college campus
God this wait is just killing me
Thank you! I am a URM. Girl, African American. Idk if that gives me an “edge”…
I applied for psychology. I feel like this is a competitive major so idk my chances
I gotta say, like i envy the athletes and questbridge kids who already got in, like go on instagram or twitter and use the #stanford2023 tag, and u gonna find like these kids who already got in. Waiting for this decision is just killing me
probably a little, but its not gonna come down to a deciding factor
anyone know how many kids on this thread???
I received the diversity email. Am not first-gen nor URM.
Just curious, what is this diversity email ?
I didn’t get a diversity email, does that mean I definitely didn’t get in???
no, I’m pretty sure it’s based on when you submitted your application. I think you’re fine
Obviously not. The only way you will know is tomorrow when you check the portal.
I am literally sOOoOoOoOoOo nervous help
So um fellas I just found out from my counselor that nobody from my school has ever gotten in
