Stanford/Hecht room dimensions

Just wanted to provide some extra room dimensions for future students moving into Hecht or Stanford. This post has most of the needed dimensions. The 3D plan view of the double room is inaccurate (at least for the room we moved into)--the door doesn't split the space between the two closets but is all the way over to one side.

Closet shelf to ceiling: 16"
Closet shelf depth: 18"
Closet door to door frame edge (left side): 28"
Closet door to light switch (left side): 23"
Light switch height from floor: 45"
Bed shelf ledge width: 6"

There is a column that interrupts the bed shelf; it is 12" from the column to the wall opposite the door.

With the Walmart bed risers in place, it is 17 3/4" from the floor to the cross bar of the bed frame. 19 3/4" from the floor to the edge of the bed frame.

A few other observtions:
[ul]
[] Windows don't appear to open
[] Metal louvers, while effective (mostly) at blocking light, are ugly; a curtain rod and curtain panel are helpful
[] There are two power outlets per dorm room side. One is on top of the bed shelf (all the way against the wall, so the six outlet expansion won't work); the other is on the wall above the desk.
[] The lockable top drawer used to require a key; however, this was plugged up (around the same time as the switch from dorm room keys to the CaneID card) and metal loops have been installed to use a combination lock for those who want to use the top drawer to secure any valuables.
[] The closets are not very deep; just barely deep enough to accommodate the hangers. The desk chair will fit inside the closet (for those wanting to keep it around) either facing sideways or facing outward
[] The drawers of the desk are deeper than the drawers of the dresser due to a column that rises behind the dresser unit
[li] It was (for us) about two blocks to push the laundry cart from the parked car (Bank United Center main lot) to the residence hall. Fortunately, it didn't rain, but I was glad to have prepared a plastic covering and some clips--if it had been raining, things would have otherwise gotten very wet.[/li][/ul]

Thanks for the detailed information! The 3D plan views are helpful but I have also found they are not to scale at all. The plan views make the rooms seem more spacious than they are! I would point out that in many rooms in the freshman towers, the room door is in the middle of that wall. Also, the towers are the designated hurricane shelters for the campus hence the ugly metal louvers on the windows - they are great for total room darkness but not very attractive!
