Stanford party scene?

<p>Hi CC,</p>

<p>Can anyone elaborate on the stanford social/party scene and greek life? My one hesitation about stanford is that "it's party scene is as dead as Leland" and that college will be all work and little play. Some say that stanford has a vibrant social scene, others say the opposite. Any current students have input? I'd love a description of a typical week/weekend. Do many students attend the football games/tailgate?</p>

<p>My other top choice is Duke, which is known for a stronger social scene but slightly lower prestige on the east coast. Anyone have any incite in comparing the two's social atmospheres?</p>

<p>Stanford definitely has a party scene more vibrant than that of its East Coast counterparts (read: HYP). There are always parties on Friday and Saturday nights, and there are events to attend (i.e., speakers to see, performances to watch, concerts to attend) almost every night of the week. I’d say a majority of the student body attends these as well football games, which tend to be extremely popular. </p>

<p>Totally inaccurate. People here have very much of a “work hard, play hard” mindset.</p>
