I was accepted in the first notification period for the fall term at FSU. However, would it be possible to start in the summer instead and if so, by when would I need to contact them?

That sounds like a question you should have asked the "pushy" student ambassador. ;) I believe you can start in the summer but I do not know the deadline for notifying them.

Lol the issue hadn't occurred to me until yesterday but I doubt the ambassador would have known regardless.

I will say my son regretted not starting in the Summer because many of his friends already left for college while he waited anxiously to get up to Tally in late August. It is nice to get a jump start on the college experience while the pace is more relaxed and less overwhelming.

How much earlier does the summer term start?

I think FTIC attend Summer C.

I'd contact Admissions for the answer. I suspect you can...

Make sure any institutional scholarship will not be adversely affected. Certain scholarships that start in the fall and are for freshmen only have weird rules. Hopefully not a problem but ask the question.

This was something that was pointed out to us at some presentation by my Ds school - it was a while back and I think it was more directed toward someone maybe taking some summer classes at a CC which would have made them transfers technically and would have lost them a particular scholarship.

Also summer classes can be very intense - The information usually taught in a semester is instead taught in a few weeks.

^Good advice. Ensure you address your housing priority number, too.

Good point about the scholarship swimcatsmom. I wonder how the University scholarship would be affected.
