I’m interested in the nursing program, I live in south Florida. The medical field as you may know is very competitive and it’s becoming more increasingly competitive. I did not start off great when I started going to school in 2002, my grades and GPA suck for any nursing program. I was thinking about moving to another state or up north to Orlando but I don’t want to transfer my grades. I want to start off fresh like I just graduated high school. I should also mention that I have an AA degree under my belt. Do I have to transfer my credits to another school? Is this legal? Can I start with a clean slate? Thanks
No you must report your prior college record.
All colleges request that information from National Student ClearingHouse

and anyone trying to hide prior college attendance by not reporting risks the all but certain outcome of being expelled.
One suggested way to enter a Nursing Program would be to first, attend an inexpensive accredited LPN Program. In South Florida, McFatter Technical College LPN Program cost around $4,300:
or at Atalntic Technical College (ATC).
You can then transition to an RN Program via an LPN-RN Bridge Program (ADN) at a local Community College, such as Broward College. You have the option of doing an RN-BSN program while working full-time as an RN.
I would stay away from the For-Profit schools. Your other option is to start taking (if you haven’t done so as of yet) the Nursing prerequisites at a local Community College, get good grades and nursing test scores and applying to various ADN/BSN Programs.
Florida Public Nursing Schools are fairly inexpensive when compared to other States, so I’m not sure what would be accomplished by moving to another State or another part of Florida for that matter. There is no way you can conceal your prior college grades and get away with it. If you have already taken Nursing Prerequisites and did badly, you may want to go the “longer” LPN route and work your way up the nursing ladder.
