Starting my own tutoring business

How would I go about doing this?

If you have no idea how to make this happen, it’s probably not a great idea.

Have you worked as part of a tutoring group before? Does your school have some sort of peer mentoring service that you’ve previously been a part of? If not, reconsider your idea. If so, use their structure as a model for your business, but you’ll need some reason for parents to send their kids to you rather than to other established businesses. What do you offer that other tutoring services do not? (Some ideas: home visits, specialities in certain subjects)

It all comes down to GC, clubs and teachers. at least, for me it did.
Here is how I got to tutor. I was looking for a job and went to my teachers and GC to see if there was anyone looking for a tutor. the Chinese teacher told me that there was a tutoring position near where I live. so I ended up tutoring this guy from Columbia in Chinese (I’m still in high school). so I gave the teacher my resume and I got the position. And I’m also tutoring elementary school kids Chinese, so that helped a lot

I don’t have any previous experience, but the CC that I go to DOES allow students to tutor subjects in which they have excelled. So, should I look into that first?

Also, I’m thinking of going around town asking at middle schools for positions. Will it look better on my transfer application if I tutor students at my own level? I want to do something that will help my application stand out.
