Statistics... Yes or No?

I've heard a lot of people on CC mention that Statistics is a joke and not worth taking. Is this true? I was considering self-studying if it really isn't worth wasting a class period on. If I do decide not to take it, I have to find a class to replace it with. I was considering the following options:

A) Computer Science I (originally junior year) followed by ___________ the next year:
i. Computer Science II
-or-
ii. European History (I’m usually not a history-type person, but this course sounds fun)
-or-
iii. Biology (would have to take one of my other courses zero hour because this is two periods)
-or-
iv. Chemistry (would have to take one of my other courses zero hour because this is two periods)

B) European History (originally not taking) followed by ___________ the next year:
i. Computer Science I (only one option because I need a technology credit to graduate)

If you don’t understand what I’m asking with the chart, basically I want to know what colleges would admire the most (yes, I would also enjoy all the courses I listed), and, if it comes down to Euro and Comp, which would be the easier course (so I can take it first). Thanks for your help!

The class is easy but the exam is difficult.

Stats classes are typically easy compared to other math classes (Caculus, etc.). The exam is take-able if you self-study, but I had to spend some time on it. It's got enough "stuff" to know that it takes awhile if you want to solidly know everything. I , being the lazy dumba__ , didn't start until the 2 days before. I did NOTHING but study stats and did end up with a 5, but that was not a fun 2 days at all. So yes, I think you can self study it, but the exam isn't really a "joke."

My teacher told us from day 1 that everyone would fail the test and noone has ever gotten above a 3 (even the math geniuses) [outdated books and teaching method...small school lol]. I got an A+ almost every term, but failed the test miserably. (She taught us stuff that wasn't on the exam. You still had to do hw and study the stuff...but it wasn't what you would find on the exam...making her a bad ap teacher lol). O well lol.

good luck

and since you mentioned euro...I heard the exam was pretty tough just because it's the history of Europe...a long long history for a very large place lol

comp sci's have some of the highest rates of 5's for the ap exams. bio is one of the hardest. euro history, not so hard. if you want to comp sci major, i'd do both comp scis. otherwise, if your a science major kinda person, chem then bio.

I took stats (but not AP) simply because my school requires 4 maths and I wasn't about to take trig or calculus (we don't have precal) because of the homework involved on top of other, more important classes such as AP Spanish lit which required all my time.

Really, just take whatever you'd enjoy most rather than which tests would be easiest. Many colleges don't even take APs. I passed 5 exams and how many classes do I get out of? A big fat zip. I could get credit hours, but that's actually more of a hinderance (as in I couldn't take as much study abroad) than a help.

Which is better, biology or chemistry?

bio of course
