I am sure this question has been answered before, but I will go ahead and ask anyways. What type of stats would provide an extremely high likelihood of acceptance to the university, specifically as a direct admit to Foster? I'm thinking 3.7+ and 2000+ (assuming in state). Any thoughts?

Just from experience among people I know who have applied to UW, I would say about 3.8+ and 2000+ as acceptance to the university.

I don’t know about Foster though.

HOWEVER, remember that you can have a 3.9 and a 2100, yet be denied from UW because of your essays/extra curriculars. I know too many people who just rushed through their written portions of the application the night before the deadling or just didn’t care because they thought they were almost guaranteed admissions.

Assuming you show that you are “well rounded” you don’t need great stats to get into UW if you are in-state. Just spend time to write great essays and have decent extracurricular activities. Also, GPA is more important than SAT though. I know a smart person with a 3.3 and 2100 in-state that got denied from UW while a hard worker with a 3.9 and 1700 in-state that got accepted.

Find the cure to cancer for a guarantee.

Or just have a 1800 sat and a 3.8 gpa with pretty good Ec’s and essay and your set
