Stats needed for BC transfer?

What do you think in general they are looking for in terms of freshmen transferring in as sophomores?
What SATs, transferable GPA, etc will they want? It can't be as competitive as getting admitted as a freshman, right?

Hey I also apply to BC as a transfer.

I'm applying to BC as well.

According to the BC website, the average college GPA for transfers was a 3.69 and the average SAT (Cr+ M) was 1291. Thats info is for the transfer class coming in for Fall 2007.

Thanks horsegirl, I must have been looking in the wrong place on the website. Does it say how many transfers apply (roughly) and how many are admitted?

on collegeboard it says that BC received 1,632 applications and accepted 268, which is an acceptance of 16.4%

Wow. That's not very hopeful. I wonder if having applied as a freshman (rejected) can work to your advantage? Meaning, it shows a real interest in the school? Grasping at straws, I know.

The BC website says for Fall 2007, they accepted 260/1633, which is about 16%.

Sunshadow - I too applied as a freshman (and was rejected)...I really really have my heart set on BC. Best of luck to you!

Thanks, it's for my D actually. Best of luck to you too!

if you have an alumni relation it really helps

Sadly, my D does not. She's going on sheer transfer GPA (4.0) and other stats.

I mean it is possible. My friend his dad transferred to BC from Merrimack and didn't have an alumni relation and either a 4.0 or close but that was obviously a long time ago

I am hoping that the low SAT (1170) might be offset by the high freshman GPA (4.0).

I don't know if they take those things into consideration, though.

Just as an FYI, BC had a decent-sized transfer waiting list last year, (I remember, I was on it, lol), I recall when I contacted their Admissions Office, they had at least a hundred on the list. Therefore, don't be too intimidated by the acceptance stats, IMO I think they are a bit padded.

You might have already, but I would suggest digging up the 2007 BC stats thread, I recall it listed a decent amount of people who had applied, their status, and their admissions decisions.

Good luck! :)

Applying as well. Anyone want to post stats?
