I couldn't believe it either but I guess removing UCR from the referral pool really did it. I wonder how the transfer stats will look o__O

Yeah they’re just confirming your self fulfilling prophecy

What are you talking about, Willis?

Location:Riverside nuff said

Seriously? I mention stats and you say location? You’re pulling a strawman on me! I never even said anything about location.

Your biased towards the place where you grew up/reside. The reason you started this thread is to prove that UCR>UCSC.

What a D-O-U-C-H-E. Yeah I take pride in where I grew up but I hate this area and would choose UCSC over UCR ANY day. and by any day, I really mean ANY day. Hell, I’d choose UCSC over UCI.

Thanks for defeating the entire purpose of this thread with your smart remarks -___-

Ok. It looks like UCR will be a top teir university by the end of this decade. :)

smh

lmao I was like lmao

But lettuce be reality…all joking aside…Applying to UCR is like the special olympics. Even if you win/succeed, you’re still a (insert demeaning slur here)

brb UCR fighting with the CSUs for the “Worst Place to Transfer” award

inb4SLOisbroughtupindefenseofCSU

So…what’s wrong with UCR, exactly? Are their professors not qualified? Are the programs bad? What?

One of the lowest ranked UC’s in a bit of a boring place. Not funded as much for research as most of the other UC’s. The usual reasons why a school is considered kinda sucky. I’d say they’ll make the top 35 in about 50 years (just speculation). Could be sooner… I thought the drop in admission rates was really strange though.

you can’t just conclude from admit rates that one university is “more selective” than another. there may just be a ton more under qualified people applying to UCR than UCSC resulting in a lower admit rate…

I just really wonder about how ‘awful’ some of these supposedly awful schools are after spending some time on this board. It certainly provides an, um…interesting viewpoint.

I would think the term “selectivity” had more to do with admit rates than anything. You (or I) might be mixing up terminology but I hope you get what I mean (which is, UCR admitted a lower percentage. nothing more). Why do you guys feel the need to attack people for posting things on here? You’re just as bad as the jerk drivers that try to start something while driving just because they feel protected behind their car windshields -__-

I really hope this doesn’t turn into another one of those “UCR sucks” threads.

When you’re into school stuff as much as most people on this site (including me) are, you tend to get a bit arrogant. To be serious, you turn into a bit of a d-o-u-c-h-e-b-a-g. You start looking down on all the rest of the people that never made it to college or those who end up going to a lower ranked school. Think about all the Berkeley kids you ever meet. As soon as you hear where they go, you’re immediately interested but the CSUSB kid is looked down upon. Or my favorite: “Me: Where are going to school now? Him:Oh I dropped out a few months ago and am working as a pool boy. Me: Oh (Awkward Silence)”. As soon as these people tell you about themselves, you silently judge them. Wrong thing to do…

No not really. Only ******bags judge a person based on their college. Sure employers care, but most arent going to differentiate between any of the UCs out of the top 3 (Cal, LA, SD). UCR is still a USNews top 100 school in the nation. In most states you are lucky if one school is in the top 100…here in California we are spoiled.

I dont plan on going to UCR, but if something fallls through with my other schools I wouldnt mind going there at all. I toured the campus and the labs and I thought it was just fine.

This place tends to attract the psuedo intellectuals who think they are better than everyone else.

And jvesco is the biggest loser in the place. Alll his posts scream of lonely ■■■■■.

You guys aren’t forgetting that we’re all community college students, right?

^^ exactly!!
