it would be very helpful if people who have been accepted/rejected to schools such as UCLA (my fav), UCSD, UCSB, USC, and other private schools in the area in the past would PLEASE post their stats at the time of application and whether or not they were accepted/rejected. Thanks if you can help! I'm just trying to compare to get a better idea of where i could get in!

UC schools are extremely hard to get accepted into if you are an out-of-state applicant and have no "legacy: ties to the college. The acceptance rates are sometimes as low as 1-2%; especially at UC B and UCLA. However, USC is not in the UC system and therefore has different standards and acceptance policies. They accept more out-of-state students. I believe if you have high stats then USC will be the one to accept you over the UC schools. The UC schools tend to be "heartbreak schools" for out of state students as it is always a toss up and mostly a numbers game to them.

Erm. At least 30 sudents from our school gets in. Usually closer to 50. We have class sizes of 500, or so. That 30-50 are usually the IB students. We're listed in USC's statistics PDFs as one of the top 5 public schools represented at USC. :) Sunny Hills.

As for UCLA, because at least 10-15 go, I'm sure more people get in: I'm guessing more like 20? 30? I can ask my counselor tomorrow.

But yea. ._. I have to say SoCal schools have distinct advantages.
