Status changed

The “gray box”: It is not determinative of whether you are admitted or not. It is what happens when they are putting a final decision in your file which will be released Friday.

I was deferred from Priority and it says “Your application is complete and ready for review.” I think we are all just jumping to conclusions. No way to truly find out until 4pm on Friday.

Well, when I was deferred at priority decision that exact gray box stating “Your application is complete and is ready for review” appeared a few days before the priority decision. Maybe the gray box means something else for regular decision, but I am really not hopeful. Bracing for the denial.

The gray box should completely disappear on the status page, from all of what I read on numerous threads – if Admissions was preparing to admit an applicant on Friday.

I don’t know for sure, but it seems like the gray box reappearing, with the message “Your application is complete and is ready for review” can only mean “denied” or “wait listed”. Again, not 100% sure of my interpretation…

To answer your question edsall, it came personal email addressed to my D and said:

Thank you for applying to the University of Illinois.

Your admission decision will be posted online this Friday, February 17 at 4 p.m. Central Time:
Check Status

You will need your application Login ID and your application PIN to view your decision.

Did everyone else get this? It came this morning to my D.

Oh and it was automated. We did not submit a query or anything.

So now I’m paranoid but is there ANYONE here that had their gray box disappear this week? I’m only talking to those who were deferred and are waiting for an answer on Friday. Every single poster here has said the gray box is still there and there are some that have shown a movement of their major to DGS. If we all have that gray box I find it surprising that every single one of the posters here was denied. I’m not buying it. I’ll remain positive and think that it just standard procedure and will try not to read into it. I don’t need to freak my D out any more than she already is!

I got the same e-mail today

momacita…everyone gets that email just as a reminder. I don’t think the grey box means anything for regular decision although for priority it did. but everyone seems to have the gray box so idk

Thank you, momacita. My son just got similar email.

Do all colleges send emails about forthcoming decision or is it just Illionois’ fancy?

I applied to purdue and i got one.

i’m in exact situation as your daughter, really nervous about it now,. hope i can get in… ranked 40/948, 1910 SAT(kinda low) and pretty good other stuff, got deffered by Umichigan which made me scared of this. but whatever,… hope i can get in.

i just logged on my account to check and it disappeared… maybe you should check it now?

My D’s did too! Now what?

just wait? lol. good luckkkkk!

From what I understand, EVERYONE who was deferred had their gray box be removed, so I don’t think it’s significant at all. Can someone from past experience with applying to U of I prove me otherwise? I’m really anxious to know, thanks.

People who applied to normal admission also had the box removed. My Friends stats weren’t the best for u of I but his box is removed.

Hey TeenieWeenie…

Do you happen to have a super hot brother that goes to U of I?

I definitely do not.

Hi

My application status also seems to have dissappeared. Can someone please tell me what that should mean?

Awaiting reply…
