Stay safe and dry!

Just thinking of everyone who's in the path (or the midst) of the storm and hope you and your kids are doing okay. I realized earlier how many of you guys are in New York, New Jersey, and points north, and have been texting with my sisters who live up there and have been without power, heat, etc., for several hours now. Sending many good thoughts your way, and hope to hear that all are doing well. Events like this can put everything in a new perspective.

Me, too! Wishing everyone in the path of the storm the very, very best. Stay safe and dry everyone!

Thank you, ladies! My toes are pruning up nicely, but hopefully we’ll see some sun soon. Sandy is still hanging around with lightening and thunder at the moment. We were lucky with only one huge branch down, but doubly lucky because our town has our own electric company. So when we loose power, they are quick to react, and we don’t have to compete with other communities out of power.

I felt the worse for the poor Virginia people with the two feet of snow! And the Battery section of NYC. Horrible for those people who lost their homes in that huge fire.

I have some experience with hurricanes and feel for anybody who went through this one. Hope all are well.

We live in Hunterdon County NJ. It is pretty bad with trees all over – a few on houses, lots on power lines and many in the roads. Fortunately, we got less rain than anticipated so flooding – which in our area is driven by streams from the North – didn’t happen. We fled to a hotel in PA that could accommodate 3 dogs once learned school would be out rest of the week with most of the county including us out of power. Still, we ended up way better off than people in the shore area of NJ.

Wow, ActingDad. Anytime a family has to “flee”, it is frightening! Glad you were able to take your dogs with you. If you are ever in the mood to sob (and who isn’t!?!), watch a documentary called “Mine” about all the pets left behind during Hurricane Katrina. Absolutely heart-breaking, since most owners were forbidden to take their animals, then were denied their return because others claimed they “abandoned” them. Horrible!
