What is the difference between media, culture, and communications at steinhardt and the stern concentration of marketing

b/c im interested in marketing and was wondering if I could just go the route that's easier
and apply to steinhardt
or is the real marketing/advertising courses in stern

They both have ‘marketing’, per-se. Stern is a business school, you graduate with a business degree. Stern is MUCH harder to get into than Steinhardt. Average ACT is a 32 (low end) to 35 (high end) and a 3.7+ GPA UW with a very rigorous course load. You also need subject tests in most cases.

Marketing at Stern is going to be a more business-minded route, with things like market research, analytics, economics, and whatnot, whereas MCC at Steinhardt will be more creative studies, and writing, and stuff like that. With a marketing degree, you’ll go into business with big companies and promote their products, whereas with an MCC you would work in advertising as a writer, or in television or film.
