It offers me "a merit scholarship which is renewable over your four years of study"...does anyone know what kind of money this translates to?</p>

<p>from what i hear, you arent allowed to double major ANYWHERE except your school or cas. i only say this because i asked them, once on the nyu bulletin board, once in an email, if i could have a second major in social work (ill be in tisch next year) and they said its just not allowed.</p>
<p>i think the reason they do this is that the majors in all schools are usually so vigorous that there just isnt time and you wont be getting what you need to out of your first choice major if you do, so they just dont allow it. since youll already be taking courses at cas, and in the school of your selected major, required classes can overlap, and thats why you can double major there. thats how i would make sense out of it.</p>

<p>My D applied for Math Education to Steinhardt and received invite to Sunday in the Square, but not the scholarship program. She feels she hasn't even been accepted yet. Her stats were similar to yours. How much money did they offer you? I hate to be so bold, but I am interested in the merit aid.

They havent even officially accepted me yet!
It does say in the letter that only 68 people were invited to the program, though...</p>

On another note, it says that everyone in the program is either a "Dean's Scholar" or a "University Scholar" - does anyone know how much $ these groups tend to get (merit-wise)?</p>

<p>I got a scholars letter last week as well! And to be honest I was/am totally SHOCKED. I didn't expect to get ANY money from NYU!</p>

I'm fairly sure I've been accepted as I've received an invitation to the Sunday in the Square, but now I'm praying for scholarship money. My stats are just a bit below yours (2140 SAT, 92 UW GPA) and I also applied to Steinhardt.</p>
