STEM Major's Extra Supplement

<p>Hey CC Community,</p>

<p>I’m applying to Brown RD with a Mathematics concentration, and I am asked to write an extra supplement for Chem, Physics, Math, CS, and geology concentrators. Could anyone inform me as to how to format this? Double space, left-justified, font size, etc. I don’t want mine to look weird.</p>

<p>Thanks!</p>

<p>Not that important. I think mine were generally single-spaced, 12 point font.</p>

<p>When do they ask for the extra supplement ?</p>

<p>@wildchild: it’s in the Brown supplement.</p>

<p>I never saw it and I already submitted my application. Now I don’t know what to do. ):</p>

<p>Where was the question on the application for you guys?</p>

<p>The extra question was:
"Because you have expressed an interest in Chemistry, Computer Science, Geology, Mathematics or Physics, we would like to know a bit more about you. Respond to the following questions separately, and please remember to include the number corresponding to each question in your uploaded response! (Limit your total response to 500 words.)

  1. Many applicants to college are unsure about eventual majors. What factors led you to your interest? What experiences beyond school work have broadened your interest? (Feel free to elaborate on one of your previous responses.)
  2. What concept in your anticipated major were you most proud of mastering?
  3. Briefly describe the course(s) you have taken relating to your chosen field."</p>

<p>In terms of formatting, I think all they care about is that you’re under the word/character limit and that you demonstrate an understanding of the concept of paragraphs. Do you even have that much formatting control on the online app?</p>

<p>I also imagine the question only pops up if you select an intended concentration that they want it for.</p>

<p>Yeah in my application it does not ask me those questions. Only questions I got where why Brown specifically and what made you interested in your intended major. Maybe the application only asks for it when you are a freshman applying ?</p>

<p>Yes, the transfer application is different from the freshman application.</p>
