Stern Admissions

Hey, I was wondering if getting into Stern is appreciably more difficult than getting into other NYU Colleges. I couldn't find SAT statistics or GPA numbers etc. Also, with NYU's standardized testing policies, would people be hurt by submitting 3 subject tests instead of the SAT Reasoning Score? Thanks.

The difference academically between high school students who were admitted into either CAS or Stern is bombastic. But Stern is still higher academically than any other NYU School.

I believe that the avg. gpa for NYU in general is like 3.75 while stern is 3.8. The avg. SAT score is 1435/1600. Most of this info is on the stern website. Doesn’t NYU require your SAT reasoning score along with preferably 2 subject tests?

apparently, nyu doesn’t require sat or act scores anymore.

Yes they do, but they only listed the SAT Reasoning score ranges on the Stern website. They’ll take the ACT with 2 SAT Subject teststoo.

Wait no, I’m wrong. This is new for the freshmen applicants for September 2010: [NYU > Undergraduate Admissions > Applying for Admission > Freshman Applicants > Standardized Tests](<a href=“How to Apply”>How to Apply)

I like this. You don’t have to send in subject tests in with the ACT anymore. Yay!
But do you think it would hurt if I still did?

Thanks Ohboi that’s exactly what I just asked :crash:

I obviously didn’t know you were referring to the new policies when I first posted. And I didn’t ask the same question. I’m asking if it would hurt to send in SAT Subject Test in addition to sending the ACT, even though you don’t have to. Not instead of.

If your looking for Stern undergrad stats: [NYU Stern](http://w4.stern.nyu.edu/aboutstern/)
But all it says is
Average SAT Score: 1435
Average GPA: 3.79

now now, don’t let those statistics prevent you from applying if you really want to go.
