I have noticed that Univiversity of Stevens Point has been left out of many lists for Musical Theater schools. I have known a couple of people who have graduated from this school and have loved the musical theater program. So, just to tell of all you to check out that school.

I agree with wishadream. I am currently a freshman in the BFA Musical Theatre program at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, and every day I am amazed at the quality of training that I receive here. Many of the professors here have worked in the business in New York, and as a result of that, the deparment recently established a Senior Showcase in NYC for our graduating seniors. Very exciting!

If anyone has any questions, I would be more than happy to answer them to the best of my ability. UW-Stevens Point has so much to offer. Check it out.

do they have a cut system?

There are no formal juries if that's what you mean. All students are however assessed semester and meet with their advisors. There is also a probation system. Students can be put on academic probation for academics or if the student's artistic growth are considered unsatisfactory by the faculty. After a student is put on probation, he or she will be reviewed again by the faculty at the end of that semester. They can either be taken off probation if the student has shown improvement, or they can be asked to leave the program.

UWSP has refurbished facilities, a strong faculty, a program that has been strong for a very long time (and therefore a very deep alumni base). It is one of those programs that doesn't get recognition but is very high quality - and has been for a long, long time.

How many people get accepted to the BFA program every year?

It varies from year to year. Eight is the average accepted to the BFA MT degree.

I didnt know it was eight. Oh my god. Thats going to be hard to get into. What did you do in preporation to apply. Do you know Melissa Hart?
