Hello, I was offered their Gateway program for this summer. I noticed the change in my AIS page about a week ago, I was glad considering it’s a lot better than a flat “nope.”

here are my stats.

Extracurriculars- I have a couple, the main one, i am a radio show host, been doing it since freshman year
Work - June 2007 - March 2010

Letter of recommendation - one
Submitted App.- before Dec. 1st.

You should be hearing soon, they do in fact update their system every Wed. after 5 PM
Best of luck and hope I was able to help

Were you offered their gateway program?
It’s A LOT BETTER than a flat no, or doing wait list where you rely on enough people not to attend to A&M so you can hopefully have a spot. Gateway on the other hand is a much faster process than Blin Team, like mentioned above it’s only a 6 week program during the summer and the classes you take during this time will count towards your major. Once you have completed the classes with a 2.0 or better with out failing a class you will be a FULL A&M student for the Fall of 2011!

Don’t loose hope man! My friend was wait listed enrolled as a Baylor student last fall. The day after he paid his deposit with Baylor, A&M called him offering him a spot, this happened sometime during April if I am not mistaken. So just be patient my friend.

texasboy1613, I completely understand your anxiety and do know that, if waitlist/Blinn Team is currently coming out, acceptance at this point is more unlikely. But I just wanted to give you encouragement that, since you have been accepted to TAMUG, keep the idea in front of you that being at the College Station campus is only a year away. It may not be the ideal situation, but you WILL get to be an Aggie next year if not this one. Your diploma will still say graduate of Texas A&M University whether you were there 4 years or 3 years. Keep your chin up and we’ll continue to hope good news is just around the corner for you.

Thanks for this support! I just gotta relax and see what happens, time will tell. All is good when I know I will be an Aggie the rest of my life.

texasboy1613 - relax. You have the way to get to A&M thru TAMUG. You already are an Aggie. Don’t discredit yourself going that route if it comes to that. And dont give up yet - no one has said no to you yet.

texasboy1613 - My son is in a similiar situation (waiting since Sep for a decision from TAMU). He too has been accepted at TAMUG as a back up. Either way, you both get to your goal of attending TAMU though it may take a while longer.

Klparker312 - Thank you… My child is just thinking it is BAD news… there have other offers but A&M is her first choice.
There is another kid at school that didnt get in and was notified about a month ago.

I have not heard how the rejections appear online. I wish someone would tell us this…
anyone?

I do know that acceptance starts with a step 4 - “a decision has been made”
followed several hours, sometimes the next day by a step 5 - acceptance. I think BlinnTeam offers come this way too.

Sorry for all my typos lol I am just a nervous wreck !!!
Nothing has changed yet… I will keep you posted…
I do know of a student that was accepted to the Gateway program last week too… lol
once again - He doesnt know the process — I am assuming his parents did all the checking on AIS.

Hey guys i am new to A&M. I have seen the meaning of gateway from post #23. What is blinn team? What is TAMUG? What is TAMUCS? Does it concern transfer applicants?
