Still Haven't Heard

I applied for Stony Brook in early November and I still haven't heard back. Has anybody else encountered this problem? It's really annoying, I heard back from everyone except them. Where does everyone think I stand? This isn't my first choice at all, but I very curious. Here are my stats:

SAT I

Reading-550
Math- 490
Writing-500

SAT II

U.S History 650

AP Exams:
US History- 5
Psychology- 5

GPA- 92
Rank: top 17% 109 out of 624
APS: US History, Psychology, Economics, Spanish.
Honor Classes: Chemistry, English, Biology,Spanish.

Extra Curriculars:

Same here. I’m getting nervous,I haven’t heard back from them either

What major did you apply for?

Not trying to offend anyone, but I think they take the longest with the more borderline/controversial applicants. In my school where almost everyone applied to Stony, all the top students got in ASAP, while the kids who considered Stony a small reach+ haven’t head back yet. In your case, it may be the SAT score that hurts you.

Of course, this is all speculation.

I haven’t heard back either, it is really frustrating because I want to make a decision already! I applied around the same time that you did and I already heard back from the other SUNY I applied to (Binghamton).

Yeah, I think your exactly right. My SAT scores are the only thing that stays in my way, Thank you:)

My son applied back in mid-November to 3 SUNYs (SUNY app, 11/17 as I recall) and we share the frustration of the OP and others on this thread.

I thought “rolling” admissions meant you applied, you were evaluated, and you were informed of the decision.

Best wishes to everyone still in limbo.

I know I sound like a broken record here, but April 1 is our notification date. Yes, we’ve gotten a bunch of decisions out early, but there are still more decisions to be made. We appreciate everyone’s patience.

Chris

Hey, I’m from Reno, Nevada;
I got in a little over a month ago.

I have a 3.45 GPA (Equivalent of around 90 GPA)
Weighted=4.2 (A lot of honors and AP)

SAT
510-Verbal
640-Math
570-Writing

Hope this helps you see what they kind of liked in me… I guess.

Oh, I also applied as undecided major, SUNY Stony Brook is such a prestigous school, I’m stoked that I got in, still waiting for F.I.T., but I’m thinking Stony Brook is for me, and hopefully for you too.

I am still waiting as well.

Does Stony Brook give any good merit scholarships? All I got from the other SUNY’s was $5500 in loans.

There are not many scholarships given out. However, for those who deserve it, there are presidential and other sources.

Oh I see. Thank you. ^^

I recommend that you check your SOLAR account, and check your status there.
I can pay my deposits, but it still says my application is “processing.”

Stony Brook alongside with all SUNY will have made thier final decisions on most applicants March 25, and will send out majority of acceptance on that date. You’ll hear back before April 1st. If you havent got rejected yet its a good sign, because i know many people who have received rejections letters.

Hey congrats on SB and Bing. I am still waiting. iI that March 25 date you mentioned from a reliable source. Your post still gives me hope. Thanks.

I got $2500/year from Stony. I was hoping they’d match what Buffalo gave me (5k), but oh well. I think Stony is a bit more overall competitive.

Im still waiting as well.
