According to princeton review, it says they are going to make the decision by Feb. 1st. Did anyone not hear anything back from Uconn yet? or is it just me? lol

I haven't heard anything either. Tomorrow is the deadline...Hope they come through. I applied EA.

yeah Im getting really nervous, I should be hearing very soon because I live in Connecitcut, Good luck to you chris.

Tomorrow it the deadline for applying RD. I don't think that means they have to let the EAs know by then. It seems like if you haven't heard yet (as my S hasn't) that you are either in the RD pool, or in the no-go pool. Good luck!

Are you 100% sure? hah I guess I gotta wait a little bit more i guess..

On Collegeboard, it says tomorrow is the deadline for the school to notify you. Look:

Early Decision & Early Action
Early decision deadline: --
College will notify student of early decision by: --
Early action deadline: 01-DEC
College will notify student of early action by: 01-FEB

Good luck hanjh705. :) Hope we both get in. :)

The Uconn website says early February: [url=http://admissions.uconn.edu/apply/dates.php]Freshman Filing Dates :: Early Action :: Undergraduate Admissions :: University of Connecticut/url.

I believe if they can't make a decision by that time, they will then defer you to regular decision and you will be notified of the deferral.

Good luck!

This is what I read:

[quote]
The deadline for Early Action
application is Dec. 1. Early
Action applicants will be the
first applicants reviewed for
admission and will be notified of
their candidacy by early February.
The paper application cannot be
used for Early Action review and
notification. Students expecting
to receive Early Action notification
must apply online.
Online applications must be complete
and all supporting credentials
must be postmarked by Dec.
1 to be automatically considered
as an Early Action applicant.
Please note that the Admissions
Committee may defer the Early
Action application to the regular
pool of candidates with an early
April notification date. The Early
Action program does not obligate
the student to enroll and if the
student is accepted, the acceptance
fee deposit is due on the
standard

but good luck anyway

My S is going a little crazy. (So is his mom.) So, let's kill time...
What do you want to major in at UCONN?
He wants "Classics and Ancient Mediterrainian Studies." I don't even think I can spell that so hopefully not too many applicants are going for it. He had a better 2nd quarter so hopefully they will weigh that info into the mix.

im still waiting too and i applied early action, i called admissions yesterday and they said that we will hear back within the next two weeks.

Yeah I am getting nervous too, Im just scared about what melsmom said, "no-go or defered" My midterm grade is so bad, i hope i can get in as EA

I said RD or no-go, RD meaning regular decision pool. I guess it's still possible to get an acceptance in the next 2 weeks, so let's keep hoping... Whatever way we should know soon. I know it stinks waiting, my S was talking about it first thing this AM so I know it's bothering him too.

:( I am nervously waiting.

when i talked to admissions they said that they are still accepting and the fact that we didn't hear yet doesn't mean anything, its just taking a long time because they received an extremely high number of applications this year

^ A lot of schools say that to me and then they defer me. :(

chris2k5, I'd take a deferment over a no thank you any day. Fingers crossed for all of us!

:( Being deferred is blah...I would be happy to have a chance but I am not a person who likes the waiting game.

yeah same, i don't really know how it works though because if they actually did look at your application then wouldn't they have already sent out an answer even if it was a deferral or rejection?

I haven't heard of anyone getting a rejection yet.

one of my friends got rejected about two weeks ago so i dont think they're holding those letters for a certain time
