<p>There’s always back up plans in case of rain, and a normal day might have short thunderstorms but usually nothing major or long.</p>
<p>Just to add to what Scutrules correctly states, in tropical and semi-tropical climates (New Orleans falls into the latter), a very common pattern in the summer are warm and humid mornings followed by hot and humid afternoons, with relatively brief afternoon rain. Of course a front with more prolonged showers can move through, but that is not so typical. A lightweight rain poncho is a very handy thing to have, and the girls like their rain boots. Tulane Bookstore carries a variety of rain boots for those that want to make a fashion statement, and many more are available around town or online.</p>
