I'm looking at Storm King and Forman for my S who has LDs. Does anyone have advice or input on these schools? He would be starting next year as a junior. Looking for college prep program but scaled down, in a nurturing environment.

I don’t know about these schools and I don’t know where you’re located but I wanted to throw out: Solebury School. Small school but with a huge academic support program for learning differences. GL

Thanks NYCMOM – we are in try-state area. Solebury looks nice, but we want to be within 2 hours, so it’s a bit far.

It’s 1.5 hr from NYC…not sure where in the tristate you are. I visited and it was literally over the jersey border. Either way…good luck! In also have a child with a mild learning difference and finding a place that has the perfect academic support is so important

You may want to look into Oakwood friends School in Poughkeepsie NY. My D is going there now and I they are extremely supportive.

Forman School, CT (grades 9-12, B)
Gow School, NY (grades 7-PG, B)
Kildonan School, NY (grades 6-PG, B)
Maplebrook School, NY (grades 5-12, B)
Oxford Academy, CT (grades 9-12, B, boys)

Is it too late to reply (4 years late!)? Can’t speak for Forman academics. However, Forman athletics are no match for The Storm King School (SKS). SKS is the best athletic/LD support combination private school in the NY Metro area and New England. Many LD students accepted to colleges with athletic scholarships or recognition of athletic success. For LD students, request info from SKS on the Academic Support Program. By the way, which school did you select?
Please don’t post to old threads. The OP hasn’t been back in four years.
