Hey guys,

This quarter my classes owned me, but i somehow managed to Pull straight A's in 4 classes. in my 5th class i got a C.

That class was Calculus, I am an interdisciplinary studies major and the load was crazy this quarter. Do you guys think im still in good standing for UCB and UCLA? my gpa prior to the C was around 3.84-3.9 I'm not sure if this affects anything?

Shouldn’t matter. The idea’s you get Cs or higher in your classes, with no lower than a 3.0/semester, I think; and I think your cumulative GPA isn’t supposed to drop below 3.0, but I think that might be impossible for you, at this point.

Somebody clarify, though, if I got things wrong. I’m just going with what I remember reading in other, older threads.

I’m not sure of its validity, but I heard this long ago:

For UCB, I think you need to maintain at least a letter grade of B or higher for major pre-requisites. Since calculus is not a major prerequisite for your major (I hope), you will be fine if you applied already.

it’s not a major pre req, but it is a recommended course. :S

I had a C on one of my statistics classes which was a required course, it pulled down my GPA a lot but as long as you still meet the requirements/still have a competitive GPA for the quarter/overall it probably won’t matter too much…

One C wouldn’t hurt you. You have good standing in your academic history. Don’t worry too much. I don’t like calculus as well =.= taking it right now.
