Straight med program? What are you asking?

There is no guaranteed med program like some schools have. Or a shortened (6-7 years rather than 8) like others have.

The closest to it is super competitive (~5 a year) to get in and you still need to keep a 3.8

Sorry I meant to type shortened med program. Isn’t it a 7 year program?

Nope. There is no program like that.

The USP program (the one that requires the 3.8 and is super competitive) is still a 4 + 4 (full undergrad + 4 years of med)

Because that link is wrong.

There may have been a 7 year program at one point, but there hasn’t been one is recent history.
There is a 7 year md/phd program, but if you include undegrad, that’s 11 years.

I know when I was admitted they still had it (04-05ish). Med school admission was guaranteed, provided you kept up with a 3.5 GPA and some other requirements. That said, not many people got admitted into the program to begin with, probably less than 5 a year (since essentially you were applying to Wash U med school which is ranked top 5 in the country in addition to Wash U undergrad). I guess they phased it out at some point in the last 5 years if it is no longer offered.

If it is still offered, you wouldn’t qualify anyway – it was for the top of the top students, that had done medical research in high school, were valedictorians, etc.

marcdvl- are you sure it was a 7 year program though?

The USP is guaranteed admissions with a 3.8 and 36 mcat (and interview), but it’s 8 years.

Not 100% sure, but I do believe it did allow early entrance to med school, kinda like the 3+2 Olin programs, etc. I might be wrong and thinking of the USP though…was accepted to Wash U back in 04 so it’s been a while since I’ve looked at all of the admissions programs.

Thanks, honestly because of my crap GPA (even though for legitimate reasons) I think I don’t really have a shot anyways.
