Uva is top choice, since my deferral i have kept in contact w/ the Admissiosn Office, I've sent in an additional essay (FANTASTIC essay), a letter explaining why its my top choice (again, great letter), my midyear report, and i emailed the Dean of Admissions as well...my guidance counselor also has put in two calls for me

You are a mid line candidate for both of those schools and that you have kept in touch the way you have with your GC backing you up is going to give you an optimum chance of getting off the deferral list. Does your GC know how many got off the deferral list historically? Maybe someone on the UVA board can answer that one. That piece of info along with your class rank will probably be the determinants. Even if your school does not rank, schools like UVA will assign a sort of ranking based on the type of school you are in. You certainly are doing everything right with those high midterm grades which you have hopefully sent into our schools letting everyone know that you are still going strong. When did you apply to Michigan? You should be hearing from them soon.

Assuming that you are an out of state student for UM and Uva, I agree with jamimom. Probably a mid-level candidate for all 3. Odds are you'll get into one but I hope you have a safety application in.

A couple of questions. Was WCC by audition? If so that would be excellent. And why did you choose the SAT 2 History test?

And if you dont get into UVa, I'd consider it their loss. You are a fabulous student with that resume!

i applied to michigan mid october but my transcript got lost in the mail so the app was not complete until Nov 19. unfortunately they sent me an email yesterday telling me that the decision process is being extended from 12-14 weeks to 14-16 weeks. Yes, WCC was by audition and i took the History test because it was right around the time that i had to take the AP US History test so i figured i'd kill two birds with one stone
