I am applying to LSA and the drama program, with a winter audition date. I submitted my materials weeks and weeks ago, but have not heard from LSA yet. Is it very likely that my rejection letter is already written out, but Admissions will hold it until after my audition to crush my dreams?

the goal is not to crush people's dreams...
they may be holding altogether until you audition.

haha i didn't mean to sound skeptical of their intentions in the least but thanks

Don't worry. Not everyone gets accepted in the first 2 months.

I may be wrong but I thought audition is mandatory for theatre major? If so, how can Michigan reaches a decision before your audition?

i'm applying to the drama program for the theater school, and a different major at lsa. sorry i didn't clarify. the theater major at lsa doesn't require an audition.

nothanks, my d is also a dual-unit applicant to lsa and theatre. She applied in mid-October. She was accepted into lsa around 11/26, but hasn't auditioned yet for the theatre school. (I was also a dual-unit applicant many years ago - got accepted into lsa and rejected from music school.) I'm pretty sure from our experience that the two admission processes have nothing to do with each other.
I wouldn't give up on lsa yet. It seems to be taking them a long time this year. But I just wanted to let you know about our experience with the same situation. Good luck with both your apps!
BTW my d is an in-state applicant.
