Student Discounts

I have a bud that wants to buy an ipod. Do I get a discount for showing my Cal ID at the store?

Standard educational discount is 10%.

They'll ask you for your CalID.

I bought my iPod at TSW like this, essentially it came out to no tax.

what is TSW?

The Scholar's Workstation, which is the UC Berkeley computer store. It's located in University Hall (across the street from the main campus on Oxford). Just ask someone in there how to get there (I believe you go down the stairs and to the left). You can shop online at tsw.berkeley.edu, too.

wait, so what was the price of the ipod you bought "DarkPyro"

was it 10% off and NO tax?

because you can buy ipods on the apple.com website for 10% off by simple entering the college you attend and you will get the 10% eduacation discount. but you ALSO need to pay tax.

bostonceltics, just go to tsw.berkeley.edu. They have prices listed there. Compare them to Apple's prices and decide for yourself. And what DarkPyr0 was saying is that having 10% off is about the same as having no tax, not that you get both.

I think so. I used my college ID at a local Apple store and got $30 off on my iPod Nano.
