Hi, my W-2 forms have seemed to be lost or never received, so it could be sometime before I get a new copy from my employer (a supermarket).

Will this alone cause delays in financial aid awards by any and all colleges I get accepted to? I have my paycheck stub from the end of 2011, so it has my YTD deductions, gross amount made, etc, so I can report that, but I don't have the actual W-2 forms as of now. My YTD net pay for 2011 was also $2860. Surely that wouldn't really affect my financial aid package at any school? I have no savings.

So I'm basically asking if my last paystub from 2011 would be enough and if my financial aid package would be delayed without my W-2 forms.

Thanks

Did you complete the FAFSA and Profile (if required)? Do your schools require you to send your w2 forms to them?

If not, you can complete the FAFSA and profile using your best estimates from those end of year pay stubs, and then update ASAP after you do your taxes.

My parents completed and submitted the CSS and FAFSA to my schools and their tax returns should arrive in the mail right about now. The 2 profiles were completed with that paystub.

I guess I’ll just check with my schools about this situation

The CSS/Profile schools will require your W-2, but I think you may have until March 1 to send it to IDOC (and/or the schools specifically). You will have to check the schools… they have their own policies as to what they want and when. The W2 should not vary from your end of year pay stub.
