With the new school year underway I wanted to get some feedback from NYU students (any stern students out there?!), especially freshman, on their experiences so far (good and bad).

sternie here, and our classes haven’t started yet. plus you really don’t have many stern classes in the fall (i only have micro).

We’ll get back to you in a month, welcome week is hardly an accurate representation of everyday life ;).

bump this up

Hey there. I’m new to college confidential, but I’m a current freshman at NYU in CAS. I can tell you immediately that I love it. Of course, the school was my first choice and you will find people who nyu wasn’t. I’m also lucky to have an amazing roomate to chat with.

The first semester is an awkward period. Everyone is getting to know each other and this is where welcome week really helps. You’ll meet many of your new friends here. I say it’s awkward because there was a lot of free time during that week. With all the opportunities in New York, you find yourself at a loss with what to do with that time. However since your in Stern you might have less time than others will volunteer projects and other activities that Stern specifically holds.

Cherish that week. After that, you’ll really get into the full swing of being an NYU student. The workload isn’t too hard. But it does take time. Don’t worry if you make mistakes your first semester or it doesn’t turn out exactly how you want it. NYU, and more importantly, NYC take a while to get used to. As long as you put in the effort, you should be fine.

I hope this convinces you to choose to come to nyu if you haven’t. I haven’t had any major problems here. Mostly just small stuff which afterwords I’ve moved on from. I know this might be a bit lengthy but there’s just a lot to nyu. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to ask!
