Students taking A level in November

Hello all
I am starting this thread for all those taking there A levels in November This Year. I will start with Myself

Subjects

Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
Further Mathematics

I'm taking A levels in Nov too

Mathematics
Physics
Chemistry
Computing
Business Studies

I've already done AS German - scored an A :)

waleedk87 are you are from CIE board

yea.......................

Great, You must be applying to NUS and NTU

I already did (I was supposed to take my exams in may) and got into NUS... but since i didnt get in anywhere in the US with enough aid, i decided to take my exams in nov and apply to US again

Why is it so? Is one compelled to apply to NUS and NTU if one did A-levels under CIE?

Me three:).

Physics, chem, econs, maths:)

No, But people in the subcontinent tend to apply to NUS and NTU as an AAA guarantees admission in Singopoean Univ. as opposed to US where you have to write essays, Do ECS etc.

Guaranteed admission? That's very unfair to locals and other foreign applicants.

almost Guaranteed except for Medicene and law (there is interview for that). By the way where are you from elmy.

Tombouctou, Mali........do you buy it?

Buy what??? are you appearing too for A level in November, If yes Which Board.

'Do you buy it?' as in " Do you believe what I've said?'

For the international version of A-level, November and May/June are the testing periods.

For domestic exams in the UK, it's January and May/June.

i think even an AAB is a guarantee from NUS ..which is pretty .. easy to get nowadays .. especially if u have easier subjects like maths eco business (business and eco overlap)

Well there is an official and unofficial 20% cap on international admissions in NTU and NUS.

well ive seen 3 people get into NUS with an AAB.. so i guess the quality of international students is still not THAT good.. because getting AAB and not having to do EC's/take standardised tests is quite easy..

I have one question, Do univ. in US and Sing. look at O level result also bcoz i have not given O level.

no - i asked NUS and they said admission is based SOLELY on A level (if your results are out)

waleedk87 do you know how much A's will i need to get in NTU or NUS with comp. eng.
