This discussion was created from comments split from: How rare are triple 800’s on the SAT Math Level 2, Physics, and Chemistry Subject Tests?.
Would it be reasonable to assume that in general a smaller percentage of students get several perfect AP grades than that of students with three or more perfect SAT Subject Test scores?
Could this help to figure it out:

gcf101 – Yes, kids CAN score anything.
But if a kid is STEM-oriented, gets A’s and 5’s in all 3 of those AP subjects (Calc BC, Physics, Chem) and 2300 - 2400 on the SAT/ACT itself, they have a decently strong likelihood of also acing the SAT Subject tests in the same subjects. They’re obviously already good test takers.
I think that many of my kids’ friends have the above; but admittedly, STEM is their thing. And if we’re bringing race into the equation, I do live in an area with a large Asian/Asian-American population.
