Study Abroad

I will be transfering in the fall and hope to study abroad at some point. Are there any transfer, or regular students who have done it? Does it set you back for graduations? Any information/ experiences would be very helpful.

having been educated outside the US for 6 yrs of my life I would say It really places things in perspective. I cant say much about studying abroad in college, but I would say it would be worth it for the experience. And if it takes you a bit longer to graduate so be it = ) If anything save up a bit and go outside US for a short time each summer ( Mexico doesn’t count lol)

I am a transfer student (transferred in last Fall) and I plan on going to study abroad in South Africa this fall. It CAN be done and you CAN graduate on time, but as a transfer student, it is a little more difficult because you usually have to apply somewhere near a year in advance and you may need a letter of recommendation from a UC professor.

As a transfer, if you want to study abroad, make sure to keep a good GPA your first quarter and have at least one professor you would be comfortable getting a recommendation from.

Do you have any idea where you want to study? There are SO many options…pretty much any country in the world you want to go to, you can…it’s amazing and I’m so excited to go this fall
