Study Hall?

Does having one study hall senior year undermine your entire application? Albeit a student takes all of the Honors and AP courses offered to seniors; with the exception of music theory and art history. Thank you.

you really dont have to put that on your app. i had 2 study halls when I applied but there wasnt anywhere on my application that asked for that. i took 6 ap classes along with that and those are the ones I mentioned

I think may show on the Transcript

Ummm... colleges won't even know.

Why do people care so much about such trivial things? :S

Because "such trivial things" are blown out of proportion on this website.

I'm not putting it on my app.

I hope it doesn't matter... in my school, your class rank isn't adjusted based on how many classes you take, it's just the person with the highest weighted GPA, so a study hall will helkp you more than taking an easy class where the maximum grade is 100, instead of 112 for a weighted AP course... I hope they don't hold my 2 study halls against me...

I'm pretty sure that it will be on your transcript, although if it is second semester, they won't see that until your final transcript is sent at the end of the year, which won't effect admissions

My school forces us to have only 6 classes, of which a maximum of 3 canb be APs, and it also forces us to have a study hall if we do not take band. It doesn't show up on our transcripts at all. It should hurt you if you actually chose to take it rather than take an actual class...

I have a study hall first period and simply just don't show up. Study hall is not on my transcript. If it was, I'd be in pretty big trouble...

At my school they do not include study halls on the transcript. Thank goodness.

Well I'm a Jr. and my GC is making me take two study hall, should I fill the study hall with cake classes and be bored in them, or keep the two study halls.
PS Taking 4 AP Classes (Psy, Stat, Bio, US History) with Hon. English and Trigonometry

IvyLeague:

as long as you have 5 academic classes, study hall won't be perceived as a negative.....
