Study lounges in warren

I am filling out my housing survey right now…and I don’t know whether I should put down Warren as one of my top choices.

The thing that’s holding me back is that I heard that Warren can be very noisy…and I need a quiet place where I can study.

I visited the campus but didn’t get a chance to look at the libraries. How are they? Also how are the study lounges in warren? Are they usually crowded and noisy, or quiet? What would be a good quiet place where you can study on campus?

24 hr quiet study lounge in warren. lots of hidden places throughout the library where u can study. there’s also the law and smg libraries. all these places u must be quiet.

It’s really not that loud. There’s a common room on every floor which is generally pretty quiet and very convenient for casual work. There is also a 24-hour quiet study lounge near the lobby and another LARGE 24-hour quiet-ish study lounge near the laundry room in C tower. And on top of that, there are 2 small lobby rooms that are usually quiet near B and C towers, and the dining hall (near A tower) is open for studying until about midnight.

If you don’t like any of those options, the library has tons of space to study, as does the George Sherman Student Union (GSU) 2 minutes down Commonwealth Avenue.

The 24 study room almost always has space to set up and work in a quiet environment. The computer lab is silent as well. If you can’t find a spot in either of these areas (99% of the time you will find adequate space to study), there is a lounge room in front of the laundry area. I find it quite easy to study there because there are couches and lounge chairs, as opposed to the hard chairs in the study lounge and comp lab. At night, they keep the dining hall open and many people go down there to study to avoid the distractions on their respective floors. The dining hall can be a bit loud, but it is not hard to find a back corner that is very quiet. In conclusion, there are tons of places to study in Warren and it won’t be a concern at all.
